Simon Chadwick - lead guitar
Often compared to one of his heroes, Slash, Chad's powerful, lightning fast guitar work is a highlight of every 'White Spirit' show and leaves the crowds gasping in awe! His style is also heavily influenced by Jimmy Page, Joe Pery, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eddie Van Halen and Jack Daniel's - so there!!! The maturity of his playing belies the fact that he is the youngest member of the band. He is passionate and highly knowledgeable about rock music and has an extensive guitar collection, though he also plays piano, harmonica, banjo, mandolin and, most recently, accordion. Simon and Steve have formed a song-writing partnership whick looks set to produce many future 'White Spirit' classics.
Paul Craft - bass guitar
Paul formed 'White Spirit' with Steve in 2006 after they both left Peterborough-based band 'The Signifyers'. Paul comes from Hull and started playing guitar in 'Argos' (not the shop!), a duo with his brother Andy, which later expanded to become the three-piece, 'Messenger'. He worked the clubs of Leeds, Bradford, York and Hull in the early 1980s and then joined a studio band in 1985. In 1994, Paul moved south to Peterborough and so began the current chapter of his musical journey. Paul's bass guitar hero is Martin Turner of 'Wishbone Ash' who he has met several times. Melodic rock is in Paul's blood, evidenced by his driving bass work with 'White Spirit'. As he says, "I'm looking forward to playing some really big venues with this band."
Chris Lewis - rhythm guitar
Chris is a Welshman by birth and his melodic playing underpins that 'White Spirit' sound. Chris' roots are in rock and blues, and his style is heavily ifluenced by Tony Iommi ('Black Sabbath') and Jimmy Page ('Led Zeppelin'). Chris honed his craft as a guitarmeister on the tough German rock circuit with his band 'Medusa'. Chris' knowledge of the technical intricacies of the music, and the mysterious electronics of the band's gear, is second to none. He has an awesome collection of beautiful guitars which he uses to full effect with 'White Spirit'.
Steve Vandes - drums
Steve is from Bradford, and, as you might expect of the oldest member of the band, he has a long musical pedigree. A classically trained violinist, Steve has played every type of music, from orchestral through big band to jazz, blues and rock. his first band was formed in 1969 with old school friend Gordon Tyrrall, now a highly successful professional folk musician. After forming the three piece progressive rock outfit 'Orbs' at university, Steve was faced with a choice - life on the road as a musician, or a secure professional career. He chose security, but has played semi-professionally across the country ever since, including international venues like 'The Barbican' and 'Snape Maltings', as well as many theatres in the UK and even France. In 'White Spirit', he is now indulging his passion for classic rock with one of the biggest drum kits you'll see - "Size really does matter in rock!" he says.
Dave Palmer - vocals
Well known on the Peterborough scene for his performances with 'Hooker' and 'Storm', Dave is the newest addition to 'White Spirit'. His amazing vocal talents are ideal for the classic rock sound of 'White Spirit' and Dave is looking forward to performing a new range of material with the band. "We're currently rehearsing the new set", he says, "And all will be revealed on October 24th. at The Cherry Tree, Peterborough." With an offer like that, can you afford not to be there?
